Verbier International School

Verbier International School (VIS) is a private, coeducational day and boarding school offering a personalised learning experience in small class sizes. Located in the stunning alpine village of Verbier at 1,500 metres, VIS provides a diverse and international environment where students from various nationalities thrive. Our curriculum is taught in English, with a strong focus on French, as we are situated in a francophone region of Switzerland. In addition to French, we also offer Spanish and German as modern foreign languages. We cater to students from preschool to IB level, fostering curiosity, courage, kindness, teamwork, and a strong sense of family. Beyond academics, VIS offers a rich variety of extracurricular activities, including skiing twice a week during the winter term as part of PE.

The Round Square IDEALS at VIS are enacted in partnership with our Guiding Principles (GPs) of Kindness, Curiosity, Courage, Teamwork and Family. These are shown in all documentation and reinforced at each school Assembly and Prizegiving. They structure our rewards and promoting positive behaviour and relationships policies. The Round Square IDEALS are added into the appropriate policies and integrated into the daily life of the students through our existing structures facilitating student and parent voice. We encourage leadership formally and informally through responsibility, adventurous alpine summer and winter trips, and care for our local environment.

Membership of Round Square means commitment to an educational philosophy encompassing the development of the VIS community’s minds, bodies, and spirits. It entails enthusiastic participation in Round Square activities, conferences, and exchanges. VIS is committed to the upholding of Round Square IDEALS through our existing practices and policies and the lived experience of students and staff. It entails review and reflection of all the above to become increasingly representative of the Round Square principles and philosophy.
